If I could have a friend from the book the Outsiders I think that I would choose soda pop. I think that I would choose him because he seemed to be very nice to pony boy and to everyone else. Like in chapter one, when pony boy got mugged and right when soda pop got there he had his hand over his shoulder and was rubbing him to be certain that he was alright. He also seemed nice because when they were sitting there having a smoke he asked pony boy if he wanted to go to the movies with them. I mainly chose soda pop because he seems like a guy that would look out for me.

If I were asked to talk to the two gangs about my catholic faith add how they should act more respectfully, I think that I would say..

I would talk about how they need to stop using bad language and how they need to stop acting in such a violent way. I would also try to persuade them to go to church, or just to talk to or ask for Gods forgiveness for all of the violet and inappropriate things that they have done and said. I would also say that they should not be in a gang and that they should just be in a group. I would also say that they should get someone to help them turn their lives around, someone like a counselor.

~ You didn't need to answer both questions! Thanks for the good thoughts. ~Mrs. Best

Hi Micheala, this is Hanna. I have to agree with you on the language and violent part. They are always getting into fights and saying swears that it seems like and everything day to day thing for them. I don't know how anyone could live on a world where you have to constantly be aware if someone is going to jump you at all times. It seems so crazy! I also agree with you when you talked about having them see a counsolar and ask God for forgiveness. The counciling would help them be calmer and asking for forgiveness would clear them of their sins(which is much needed). Overall, I thought you did a great job!

I think that the author is trying to infer when he says that Johnny isn't acting the same with that suspicious, defeated look on his face. I think that he is trying to infer that he feels really bad about killing that guy and that he doesn't really know what to do next. I also think that the author is trying to tell us that Johnny is worried about what is going to happen to him I the future with his health. I would also be worried because he could be i a wheel chair or physically handicapped for the rest of his life.

~ I think the author is telling us that Johnny never thought of himself as having a purpose in the world, and now he has a purpose. He needs to save the kids. ~Mrs. Best

Yes, I do think that if we get to know people better that we will like them at least a little more. I if we don't like someone and we really dot like that person then we could talk to them or do something like pick to work with them on a work sheet to get to know them better. You might not think so, but you might actually become really good friends.

~ Exactly! Mrs. Best
